The Samahang Sining at Kultura ng Pilipinas (SSKPIL) invites everyone to take part in the Good Earth Day Festival, which opens today, April 24, at Liwasang Balagtas in Pandacan, Manila. The main program starts at 7 p.m.
The festival is aimed at uniting local government officials, barangay leaders, cultural workers, environmental advocates, and community residents in fostering accountable and responsible leadership in protecting the environment, the SSKPIL said in a statement.
It described this year’s festival theme, “Malinis na Konsensya, Malinis na Kapaligiran, Mayamang Kalikasan,” as a clear call to action: Public funds must benefit the people and the environment.
Now in its 10th year, the Good Earth Day Festival again calls for a collective stand for Mother Earth, highlighting “the urgent and undeniable link” between good governance and environmental protection.
Cultural performances, community activities, and environmental advocacy initiatives will be held until April 26 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
