Japs Collectives and World Theater Productions Guam /Manila proudly present “Last Dance – Hubo’t Hubad” this September-October at Halxyon Club, the premier LGBTQ+ nightclub in Poblacion, Makati.
Written and directed by theater actor, writer and producer Jojo Urquico, “Last Dance” is a queer ensemble play set in the dressing room of a struggling male revue bar on what may be its final night.
As a storm rages outside and the threat of a police raid looms, five performers prepare for one last show while confronting the dreams they abandoned, the identities they concealed, and the lives they sacrificed to survive.
Here are the men who will tell their stories through humor, heartbreak, music, and raw confession:
Gerald Magallanes as Ace, the fearless one (“How Much of Me is Just an Act?”), a theater actor, dancer, and choreographer with over a decade of stage experience and multiple Aliw Award nominations. Ace commands attention with confidence and humor. Behind his fearless exterior is someone who has learned to turn pain into strength, and laughter into armor.
Paolo Domingo as Jay, the dreamer (“How Far Will I Go for My Dream?”), a film and stage actor, creative professional, and Halxyon Club resident DJ. Young, hopeful, and still finding his place in the world. Jay dreams of becoming a professional dancer while searching for acceptance, belonging, and the courage to live life on his own terms.
John Segui as Dodong, the heart of the group (“Who Am I When the Lights Go Out?”), a model and pageant performer who represented Cainta, Rizal, at King of the World Philippines 2025. Funny, caring, and protective, Dodong uses humor to hide the weight he carries. Behind his strength is a man longing to be loved, understood, and chosen for who he truly is.
Kriszan Manipon as Mark, the veteran (“When Do You Know It’s Time for the Last Dance?”), a theater actor, improviser, and artist who brings intelligence, wit, and theatrical boldness to the ensemble. Experienced, practical, and resilient, Mark has spent years surviving the realities of the industry. Behind his strength is a man who has sacrificed for the people he loves while quietly wondering how much longer he can keep dancing.
Robbie Padilla as Rafa, the quiet soul (“What Happens When the Music Stops?”), a photographer and visual storyteller stepping from behind the camera and into the spotlight. Quiet, grounded, and observant, Rafa sees more than he says. Behind his calm presence is a man carrying his own questions about life, purpose, and what remains when the music finally stops.
Director Urquico is a German Filipino actor, singer, director, and artistic leader whose career has taken him across Europe and Asia. With performances as Thuy in “Miss Saigon,” Angel in “Rent,” Tybalt in “Romeo and Juliet,” and Tamino in “Die Zauberflöte,” he has built a diverse career defined by versatility, passion, and a deep commitment to the performing arts.
His journey has brought him to renowned stages and cultural institutions, including the Göteborg Opera and Staatsoper Stuttgart, as well as appearances connected to the Berlin International Film Festival. His work has earned him the prestigious “Most Outstanding Theater Performing Artist” award.
Since 2017, Urquico has served as artistic director of World Theater Productions, bringing together artists and performers from different parts of the world to create theatrical experiences for audiences in Guam. He has taken on a deeply personal chapter in his artistic journey with “Last Dance,” the first play he has written.
