The Technological Institute of the Philippines (TIP) is now the third higher education institution in the country to pass the Asean University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Institutional Assessment.
Overall, TIP is the 10th educational institution in Southeast Asia to garner this assessment, the engineering and technological school said in a statement.
AUN-QA is among the top global accreditations that TIP has acquired through the years. This recognition affirms that it is at par with Asean’s educational standards and academic quality, the institute said.
TIP was established in 1962 with a core vision of providing quality education for all Filipinos. It has since made certain of providing education that is top tier at the national and global levels, it said.
The AUN-QA assessed TIP’s 20 academic programs involving engineering and computing, architecture, accountancy, business administration, and teacher education, as well as some of its graduate programs.
Twenty TIP engineering and computing programs have also been accredited by the United States-based ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission and ABET Computing Accreditation Commission, the institute said.
On the national level, it was among the 77 private higher education institutions again granted autonomous status by the Commission on Higher Education, and is home to 16 of the commission’s Centers of Excellence and Centers of Development.
TIP, under its president Elizabeth Quirino-Lahoz, is now preparing to mark its 63rd founding anniversary in February 2025 with the theme “Celebrating our Legacy, Advancing into the Future.”
Quirino-Lahoz said the school remains steadfast in providing Filipinos a chance to attain affordable and highest quality higher education despite the challenges of time, and will continue to empower innovators to succeed in their chosen industry.
